December 21 - Email (below) received from St. Andrews
Road Church of Christ
Yes there will
be a SC Bible Bowl in 2023, FINALLY!
Thank you all for registering
and being as eager as we are to get back to the buzzers
and studying deeply in the Word of God. The Books
are Ezra and Nehemiah, the New King James Version.
The Pre-Teen group will only have Nehemiah. Pay attention
to the chapter and verses missing. Ezra stops at chapter
10, verse 17 and Nehemiah is chapters 1-6, skip 7,
then 8-13. This is to avoid the long list of names.
Now, we know there are other
long lists included throughout the books. We truly
will not be asking for a long list of names that everyone
has trouble even pronouncing. There are other facts
and lists to focus on.
For example:
In Nehemiah - names the gates rebuilt, name the towers
Which family had their daughters help build?
Which family did not put their shoulders to the work
of the Lord?
Which groups placed their seal on the document with
Nehemiah?
Don't stress over long lists,
but notice the short ones or the details. Pre-teens,
please tell them to not stress, but to learn the story
and enjoy studying. The purpose of Bible Bowl was
created to encourage our youth to dive deeper into
the Word of God with fun. At St Andrews Road, we are
using Wednesday night Bible class to teach the book
of Nehemiah chapter by chapter. We are using games,
reconstruction, and re-enactments to help them learn
the facts.
Please change your registration
forms if your team numbers change by February 6. We
will take these final numbers to create the brackets.
Also don't forget to send in your team registration
money by February 7.
This year we want to enjoy
being with one another again in a friendly competition.
We WILL see you at the buzzers in 2023.
Happy Holidays!
